On the afternoon of October 20th, the opening ceremony of the third workshop for young teachers of the School of Foreign Languages was successfully held in the conference room 225, Yang Yongman Building. Several young teachers newly recruited from home and abroad, as well as Ding Jian, Secretary of CPC SFL Committee and Chang Hui, Executive Associate Dean of SFL attended the event. The meeting was presided over by Zhu Yifan, Vice Secretary of CPC SFL Committee.

In a warm and relaxed atmosphere, Ding Jian delivered a speech for the opening ceremony, and expressed his encouragement and expectation for the young teachers.

Zhu Yifan gave a lecture on the theme of "The Road to Collaborative Development of Teaching and Research". She gave a few suggestions, hoping that everyone should stick to academics, maintain a broad academic vision, and keep abreast of the times so as to contribute to a sustainable research development path.

Following Zhu Yifan's sharing, Chang Hui further emphasized the importance of "walking on two legs" in research and teaching, and introduced the promotion and career development of teachers in the principle and framework of "Universities should cultivate first-class talents for the country".

After that, Chang Hui and Zhu Yifan inquired about the teaching and scientific research situation of the participating teachers after employment and answered their related questions one by one.

The workshop for young backbone teachers has been carried out to the third session since 2019. It takes the training of young teachers as the starting point, carries out relevant activities at multiple levels and channels, and adopts the mode of academic master navigation, young scholars' experience sharing, participants' group building, and school mentor’s guidance etc. The aim is to help young teachers deepen their scientific research foundation, improve the quality of education, and guide them to carry the mission and responsibility on their shoulders and let the creed of “nourishing silently” grow in their hearts.
