On April 23, the launching conference and the first working seminar of The Virtual Teaching and Research Office of the Integrated Reform and Research of College English "Learning, Teaching, and Testing" was Successfully Held in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Wu Jingyi, Vice Provost of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Ding Jian, the Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages, Chang Hui, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, and nearly 200 representatives from 37 member units attended the meeting. The conference was sponsored by the Ministry of Education's first batch of pilot construction of The Virtual Teaching and Research Office of the Integrated Reform and Research of College English "Learning, Teaching, and Testing", and hosted by the School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The meeting was respectively presided over by Tao Qing, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, and Huan Changpeng, Assistant Dean of the School of Foreign Languages.

 
At the opening ceremony, Wu Jingyi first expressed her warm congratulations on the establishment of the virtual teaching and research office, and then expressed her gratitude to the strong support of the sister universities. Ding Jian said that the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of the Integrated Reform and Research of College English "Learning, Teaching, and Testing" was selected as one of the first batch of pilot construction of virtual teaching and research office in China, marking that the integrated reform and research of college English "learning, teaching and testing" had entered a new historical stage. During the work discussion stage, Chang Hui, the head of the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of the Integrated Reform and Research of College English "Learning, Teaching, and Testing", introduced the construction ideas. Professor Zhu Zhengcai, an expert from the National College English CET 4 and 6 Examination Committee, introduced the core concept of the integration of "learning, teaching and testing" in college English, as well as the core concept of building a virtual teaching and research room, emphasizing that curriculum ideological and political education and teaching efficiency were the two core tasks of college English teaching.

 The first stage of the expert speech mainly focused on the problems faced by the development of college English. The second stage mainly discussed the college English proficiency test and intelligent technology application. During the discussion session, the participants spoke enthusiastically and actively discussed about how to integrate the construction of the virtual teaching and research office into their university’s college English education and how to apply the integrated teaching reform model of "learning, teaching and testing" to their university’s talent training.
