Another year of graduation is approaching. The 2023 graduates of the School of Foreign Languages are about to leave the campus and write a new chapter.

On the morning of June 20, SFL held the 2023 Undergraduate Voyage Out Education Conference. The teachers and students at the meeting reviewed the "choose responsibility, shoulder mission" party lecture given by Yang Zhenbin, Party Secretary of Shanghai Jiao Tong University on June 16, and also the lecture named "Blooming the splendid flowers of youth in hot practice" given by Chen Chen and He Jiahao, 2023 German graduates, winners of the Special Award of the Second College Students Giving Ideological and Political Lessons Contest. Two party lessons, which were delivered by teacher and students respectively and approached from two narrative perspectives, shared one spirit. In combination with their own future development, the party members of graduates gave the graduation speech, expressing their willingness to integrate their youth into the needs of the motherland and the expectations of the people, into the practice of serving the people, their original aspiration to join the Party. Ren Zhujing, deputy party secretary of the SFL, He Xiaofeng, deputy director of the Caring About the Next Generation Committee, Xie Sunan, the invited organizer from SJTU; Huan Changpeng, the Assistant to the Dean of the SFL, Li Peng, organizer of the Party Committee of the SFL, and Liu Jia, deputy director of the Teaching and Research Office of the SFL, urged the graduates to bear in mind their original aspiration, be strict with themselves, strengthen their learning skills and sense of dedication, and grow up to be the pillar of national rejuvenation. Ding Jian, Party Secretary of the SFL, made the concluding speech, encouraging party members to carry forward the revolutionary tradition, harbor firm ideals and beliefs, always maintain the fine style of hard work and innovation, do a good job, motivate a group of people, live up to the SFL's expectations . 

On the afternoon of June 20, the SFL held a dinner for graduates in the Boya Hall of Zijin Street. Accompanied by dynamic music, the leaders, class teachers, professional teachers and graduates gathered together, signed their names and took photos to mark the time of youth. The dinner was hosted by Li Tongzhou and He Jiahao, 2023 graduates of the German Department. 

On behalf of the SFL, Ding Jian delivered the opening speech, expressed his warm congratulations on graduates completing their studies and wished them a stable and prosperous future, continue to write a splendid chapter. Vice Dean Tao Qing, Director of the Japanese Department Wu Baohua, Director of the German Department Xue Yuan gave speeches respectively to review the growth of graduates in the past four years. Xue Song and Fan Likun from the German Department, and Cao Xi, who was in charge of the alumni affairs, attended the event. 

Ding Jian, Ren Zhujing, Wu Baohua and Wang Pin presented certificates of honor to the Outstanding graduates of Shanghai and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Tao Qing awarded the letter of appointments to the class directors.

Teachers and students tasted the delicious food, talked freely and said goodbye to each other.

On the morning of June 21, the 2023 undergraduate graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held in Fok Ying Tong Sports Center. All the 2023 undergraduate graduates and some previous undergraduate graduates attended the ceremony. Ding Kuiling, the president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, delivered a speech named "Marching Forward in Persistence and Breakthrough", encouraged the graduates to hold onto their passion and spiritual color of SJTUers, break through the boundaries of the discipline and their ego, in order to keep the steering wheel steady, maintain the course, and sail away with innovation and development. Yang Zhenbin, secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Jiao Tong University read out the decision to award bachelor's degrees, and the university leaders and teachers' representatives conferred degree certificates for each graduate, turn the tassel and took a group photo.
