Recently, the National Leading Group for Philosophy and Social Sciences Work approved and officially announced the project list of the Chinese Academic Translation Projects funded by the National Social Science Fund for 2023-2024. The School of Foreign Languages at Shanghai Jiao Tong University has two approved projects.

The Chinese Academic Translation Project of the National Social Science Fund mainly supports academic masterpieces that represent Chinese academic standards, reflect the essence of Chinese culture, and reflect the frontier of Chinese scholarship, which are published in foreign languages by authoritative publishing institutions abroad and enter mainstream distribution and communication channels abroad, aiming to give full play to the exemplary and guiding role of the National Social Science Fund and deepen academic exchanges and dialogue between China and foreign countries. 

The School of Foreign Languages at Shanghai Jiao Tong University attaches great importance to the application process for the National Social Science Fund's Chinese Academic Translation Project. In the early stage of project application, through extensive mobilization, fully mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of teachers; During the project application stage, invite experts from both inside and outside the school for one-on-one guidance, organize multiple project discussions, and invite successful teachers to share their experiences, in order to improve the project's success rate. In recent years, the School of Foreign Languages has been approved for 10 National Social Science Fund Chinese Academic Translation Projects, including 1 key project and 9 general projects. In the future, SFL will continue to leverage its disciplinary advantages, conduct organized scientific research, actively promote the application of foreign translation projects, and make greater contributions to promoting the international dissemination of Chinese culture.
